THOU ART THE POTTER;
WE ARE THE CLAY.
Dawn reflections….
3/25/08
What a glorious Easter celebration we had this past Sunday! I was touched by your joy-filled presence as we brought our Lenten journey to a festive conclusion with the celebration of our Risen Lord! Beginning with those of you who braved the cold wind for our sunrise service, and on to our breakfast feast, and then continuing with our worship service.
Many thanks to Art and his worship committee for all their planning and efforts to make this a holy Lent and Easter, to Peggy for all her hard work in getting 3 bulletins completed during Holy Week (and keeping me on track!), to Mary Alice for coordinating the food for the Good Friday and Easter feasts, and to everyone who participated in any way in our worship, study, offering, and fellowship throughout this season.
I am continually amazed at your dedication to the ministry that Jesus has laid before us. We asked much of you during Lent: “Souper Bowl” support for LaCare, our regular “Noisy Offering”, the youth collection for the Advocacy Center, Week of Compassion Offering, the Special Bluebonnet Area Offering, the Sunrise Service offering to benefit Burnet County Child Welfare Board, and the Special Easter Offering. And you came through as faithful witnesses to the power that resurrection hope is in your life. Thank you Church!
As we continue our journey together through the Easter season and on to Pentecost Sunday, new opportunities for study, service and fellowship are coming your way. Let us always remember to give thanks to God for the gift of resurrection hope that is ours through faith in Jesus Christ. Let us continue listening for Jesus calling our name as we find new ways to minister to the “least of these” as well as to one another. Let us share the Good News of Easter with everyone around us.
Jesus Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
Grateful to be living on the Easter side of the cross and serving the Risen Lord with you,
Dawn

Youth from the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Burnet recently delivered contributions from the congregation to the Hill Country Children's Advocacy Center in Burnet. These items were on the agency's wish list and will benefit children and families in a seven county area who have experienced abuse. In the picture from left to right are Jon Paul Harris, Savanna Parker, Victoria Johnson, James Johnson, and Mandee Harris.
Congratulations to all four Burnet Middle School young ladies in Mrs. Nance's Sunday School class who were recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society: Mandee Harris, Savanna Parker, Victoria Johnson, and Mary Nedbalek.

BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL BOOTH
We’ll have a church booth at the Bluebonnet Festival April 11-13. We will have a spot on the square to hand out bottled water and information on the church. Look for a sign up sheet to work 1-hour or more shifts. Let's have a visible presence at the festival to offer greetings (and water) to the public from First Christian Church where they can find the hope of Living Water from Jesus Christ!
Order a t-shirt. Help get the word out that we are an option for worship in Burnet, Texas.

Let's be a strong presence! There will be worship, mission work, fellowship and a youth lock-in that should be lots of fun.
BLESSED TO BITS
Blessed to Bits, an outreach group of FCC (DOC) is currently working on warm wear to be distributed in the fall to those in Burnet County who receive a meal from Meals of Wheels. The group also has been asked to make 24" X 27" baby blankets for the Round Rock Hospital. Additionally we are engaged in making crocheted angels for Girling Hospice, the goal is for every hospice patient to receive an angel as a reminder of the presence and love of God.
We meet weekly on Wednesday at 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall except the last Wednesday of the month when we gather at the Artisan shop on the Square. Please come and join us, if you currently do not knit or crochet we have several very good instructors who will be happy to teach. If you would like a pattern and supplies so you can work on projects at home, let us know. We will be delighted to supply both at no cost.
A WORD FROM THE MODERATOR…
Special thanks to everyone who worked on our spring house cleaning and our beautiful Easter services. Don’t forget April 30th, our spaghetti luncheon fund raiser to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Burnet. We will need everyone’s help.
Yours in Christ,
Jerry
